Description

A short time later, Conchi received an offer from a pharmaceutical company to take over as the assistant to the finance director, with control duties. Conchi had hardly any doubts about the position after the explanations she received, and she believed that she had finally found the right job. At the end of the interview, she took the opportunity to ask whether it was a newly created position. They said it was not, but that they had experienced some trouble finding the right person. Over the past year, five people had been hired but none of them had made it through the probation period (six months), since they had failed to achieve the desired objectives. Conchi wondered whether to risk leaving the auditing firm at a time when the country's unemployment rate was very high and, moreover, on the eve of her wedding.

Learning Objective

The aim is to take on the protagonist's perspective to focus on the decision about whether or not to accept a job offer. The case also allows for reflection on virtues such as prudence and courage.
