Description
The case describes the foundation of a West German steel construction company shortly after World War II and its amazingly succesful growth during the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. It deals specifically with the major acquisitions, takeovers and new establishments the company undertook during the period under concern, as well as with its approach to internationalization and financial growth.
The company's high level of expansion is contrasted with a nearly complete absence of change in the organizational design.
Special attention is further paid to the role of the company's local environment in its development from a entrepreneurship into a large scale international company.
