Facility Management Services Aligned - FMSA - Teaching Note
This case describes the situation of a company in the services sector with different problems that apparently stem from a lack of structure, poor management profiles, and outdated information technology (IT) systems, combined with a critical fact: the current strategy plan was made 15 years ago.
The need for a new Strategy Plan designed to ensure the company's growth brings an unexpected discovery about the aforementioned "problems": they are all the consequence of the chief executive officer (CEO) profile. Since the CEO is also the owner of the company, the case explains how to manage the necessary changes that the strategy execution needs to be successful, dealing at the same time with the CEO and transforming this weakness into strength. Finally, the company was able to meet its goals, and the CEO found a long-term solution for his situation.
