Description
At the end of 2017, the Europe Division of Grupo Calvo had closed a three-year cycle in which it had undertaken the digitization of the supply chain through the Factfoodture project. This project had been developed within the department and had piloted on three independent lines of action: a markets and external factors scorecard, an intelligent planning system, and a supplier platform. The case raises the question of how to drive the Digitalization process towards Supply Chain 4.0.
Learning Objective
The main pedagogical objective is to discuss the competitive challenges of a brand industry regarding its supply chain from sea to shelf, and more especially, the digitization of processes for the operational improvement of the supply chain. In particular, the case will be helpful to:
• Show how to perform a preliminary analysis of the supply chain and suggest what questions the management should consider.
• Discuss the opportunities that arise with and advanced supply chain management in terms of digitization and the use of new technologies.
• Discuss and gain insight into the use of technology – what will work? When do I get on board" with these technologies?
• Participants are expected to understand what it means or potentially means to implement a "supply chain 4.0."
• Inspire participants and encourage them to start walking the "supply chain 4.0" path.
• Help participants to outline their own action plan in that direction"
