Personal moral responsibility in companies
The moral responsibility is inherent to individuals due to their capacity to perform deliberate and free actions. This responsibility does not disappear when working in a company, although it may be influenced by various factors. There is accountability for voluntarily committed actions as well as for the omission of actions that could and should have been done. In the business realm, as in other areas, responsibility extends to the influence exerted on others and the collaboration provided to external activities. This note analyzes these forms of responsibility. It also considers factors related to knowledge and consent that modify responsibility, both as mitigating and aggravating circumstances. The responsibility of the executive in addressing irregular situations within the company is also discussed. This note replaces the technical note TDN-115, 'TThe Personal Responsibility of the Executive,' by the same author."
