This case is a description of the emotional roller coaster that an MBA student went through,. It showsing how the different phases and aspects ofrom the MBA affected his life, his mental and physical state, as well as his relationship with his partner. It is the story of David, who embarked on an MBA journey with lots of enthusiasm and with thea long-term expectation of achieving a more successful career. The MBA also meant he had to move to a different country, away from his partner, thus finding himselfwhich meant he hadfacing the added difficultyies of a long-distance relationship. Although the first term started out well, David soon found himself overwhelmed by the workload. His background differed from the majority of the MBA students, who had previous experience in finance. and Tthis created some difficulties for him in terms of absorbing the new material and keeping up with the quantitative aspects of the work. FurtherEven more difficulties arosecame when he started to look for internship positions, as the process involved many rejections, ups and downs and unexpected turns, which led to him experiencing significant emotional turmoil. He did eventually secured a position which he was content with, which resulteding in him feeling much less pressure, and he was able to truly enjoy the third term of his MBA. Towards the end of the case, there is an emphasis on the detrimental effects of comparing ourselves to others, and on the pressure and feelings of being overwhelmed and pressure we bring onto ourselves.
