Description
Nespresso has managed to make sustainability its own. Sustainability has managed to be incorporated into the business model, as one more part. This premise is what has allowed the issue of sustainability to be one more pillar in Nespresso's strategy. Ecolaboración is its way of approaching comprehensive management to achieve a sustainable future for all, and the concept that helps each of its operations to be under that prism. The goal: to manufacture and sell high-quality coffee capsules, involving coffee growers, so that their consumers enjoy a cup of coffee with the least possible impact.
Learning Objective
The case is a great example of how to make sustainability part of a company's business model. The way of thinking of Senior Management and their involvement is clearly observed, as well as the tools that allow them to make their business a reality in a sustainable way. Especially given the increasingly growing importance of this topic. The long-term decisions that allow the company's durability and the short-term ones, which allow it to continue achieving results and face the increasing competition in this new sector of coffee in capsules, will also be discussed.
