Description
Decentralization as part of the reform of the health system has had a significant impact on the effectiveness of the public health system. The case shows the difficulties encountered in regional management and the decisions that have been made to achieve the goals that have been set. The case provides a general description of certain government initiatives in the context of the reform of the health system in Colombia, subsequently focusing on the descriptive analysis of the development, decisions and tools used by the authorities to improve the management of public health initiatives. Decentralization is an important part of the reform of the health system. How the ministry defines its activities in this area is vital for the recognition of its leadership role.
