Solaris: How Can I Help You?
Helen Romm, CEO and co-founder of Solaris, a multinational technology company dedicated to internet-related products and services, faces the difficult decision of whether to go ahead with the commercialization of Mena, the voice-controlled intelligent personal assistant service by Solaris. Some managers have expressed concern that the assistant "records" the voice of users, fearing possible privacy conflicts. Despite the fact that Solaris' Mena project was ahead of the competition in the previous year, now other companies are catching up from a technical point of view and are scheduled to launch products in the following months. Leaving Mena on hold would mean losing their competitive advantage and stopping the project would mean losing the millions already invested in the design process.
