HR Analytics at Barney - Teaching Note
By
Alegre, Inés
Barney Consumer Products is a multinational company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company's performance has got worse in the past couple of years and the different departments blame each other. A board meeting is taking place and the HR manager suggests that the decrease in performance might be due to employee demotivation and stress. The other board members tell the HR manager to provide data to back up his suggestion. The HR manager goes back to his office and tries to draw some conclusions using the job satisfaction questionnaire that all employees fill out once a year, plus other information such as the number of sick days per employee and the performance appraisals.
