Learning Objective

This role-play case is suitable for undergraduate or graduate courses in business law, environmental law, environmental studies, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility. This is a decision case: it invites students to step into the shoes of key decision-makers in the face of multi-layered conflicts — conflicts in scientific information, public perception, legal processes, and ethical perspectives — and to make decisions of great consequence. The primary focus of this case is on ethics within a business law context.
