The company CEO meets with the purchasing manager to prepare for her upcoming business trip to finalize a contract with suppliers abroad. They have a maximum deadline of one month, and they know that time is money in the business world. The company is in a critical position, so it has focused on an international expansion strategy with the hopes of guaranteeing a more sustainable future.
Isabel, who is from a low-income family, has made a great effort to reach this important moment in her professional career. However, just when she is due to go on a business trip that is essential for the company, it turns out that she is pregnant. She faces a dilemma about what comes first: motherhood or her work. She already feels the first physical symptoms of the pregnancy and she is lost in a maze of emotions and feelings in her search for a balance between head and heart. She has to make life-altering decisions urgently.
She begins to rethink her personal, family and professional life. What motivates her in life? What are her priorities? Who is involved? Herself? The baby's father? The company? Will she follow her maternal instinct or will she prioritize her professional career? Will she achieve a "successful" professional career? Will the people closest to her help her resolve this conflict?
On the other hand, will her company achieve its international expansion goals? Will she manage to involve her employees successfully? At what cost? Is the company interested in facilitating a work-life balance or would they rather avoid "risk cases"?
In summary, is a win-win situation even possible?
Can everyone benefit?
