Canal Satélite Digital (B)
After a period of considerable losses for both parties, the two pay platforms of digital television in Spain merged in 1998, which resulted in Digital +. In 2002 this merger became a reality with some conditions imposed by the Spanish government. In the next five years, new competitors entered the pay TV industry. In 2007, once the government limitations had been overcome, Sogecable, the owner of Digital +, began looking for new partners or a change in the business model. It even considered selling the platform.
