Sybila Börjesson at Catek (A, B, C and D) - Teaching Note

The objective of the first part of this case, entitled "Towards General Management", is to reflect on the key elements in the successful career of Sybila, a female executive, and also to look at the personal and professional challenges she has to face when appointed Managing Director of a logistics company under expansion. The second part, B, "The Decision Taken by the Boss" is a chance to discuss the reasons why she, as Managing Director, and the company's owner do not see eye-to-eye with each other, and what can be learnt from this failure. And the third part, C, "What Decision Should be Taken?" outlines the different choices Sybila can make in order to continue developing her career, and the different criteria - professional, personal and family - which could be helpful in making her decision.
